I realized this morning how I paid less attention this week about intuitive eating. I therefore decided to take a bit of time to read and reflect, and pay more attention to the eating process and my thoughts. With an immediate payoff. I was a witness a two wonderful abilities of my body:

- My body knows what it needs: When I took the time to thin what I feel like eating, I connected to an internal craving for fruit and grains. It felt just right eating that for breakfast. My body used the craving signals to let me know what nutrients it needed, and rewarded me with satisfaction for listening to it.
- My body knows when it had enough, and it tells it loud and clear: As I was eating and paying attention to the experience, I started noticing a dramatic change in my perception of food. In the beginning food smelled, tasted and felt terrific in my mouth. The delicious sweetness of pine apple, and fun crunchiness of grains and nuts felt intensely satisfying. Even the way the food looked was great. However, as I was two thirds through the bowl the feeling of food started to really change. The taste and the feeling of food in my mouth became much less intense, and not satisfying at all. The food stopped looking attractive to me; the remaining food looked to me like leftovers left out for too long.
